The Piano Hinge Binding Workshop was a success!
Here are photos of the book we made Saturday, March 11th, at Waveland Studio (Mainframe #226). The purposely warped covers are sheathed in stained Tyvek, and the pages are warped to fit the curves of the covers. The checkerboard spine shows the two different papers we used for the pages in the book. This example has 46 sections! As you can see, the book can be displayed in many ways. You can see it in person at First Friday, April 7th.
My next workshop, coming on April 15th, is the Tegumentum Spadex, a grand name for a very old book in the Vatican Library.
