A black wrinkled unryu paper covers this river rock. Bits of painting add veins and more texture.  The accordian book block is sewn to a strap inside the rock.  Curled silver wire adds sound when the book is moved.  Two hematite beads and a feather tipped cord hold the book closed.

RIVER ROCK SERIES
The river rock series were inspired by another artist who makes vessels from Corian counter top material.  The texture of the material and the smoothness of the shapes were irresistible.  Our River Rocks are made from carved balsa wood and are covered with rock-look papers.  Intriguing closures hold the books together.
